100 Merchants and Counting

Today we went over the 100 mark for merchants that we know are participating in Free Shipping Day.

We expect that number to grow considerably as we get closer to December 18th. Some of the recent merchants that have informed us that they will be offering free shipping that day include JCPenney, The Body Shop, Crate & Barrel, eBags, World Market, Dri-Duck and more.

Thanks to all the blogs, newspapers and television stations that have run stories on this event. They are really helping to raise awareness of Free Shipping Day and encouraging more and more merchants to get on board.

Congratulation on the 100 merchants mark.
We have decided to start our free shipping day 2 days earlier. I think next year it’d be better if free shipping day is moved to an earlier date. If orders are processed on the 19th, there aren’t enough business days left to ship UPS Ground, and we will be forced to upgrade to 3 Days Select or 2nd Day Air. Merchants can save a lot of money by moving Free Shipping Day a day or two earlier.

You should probably take into account that guaranteed delivery dates depend also on where your location is…
For example: you have Peet’s Coffee on the merchant list, but on their website, if you live on the East Coast, you need to order by the 15th to receive the item by the 24th.

You are going to create huge CS issues with the companies.
